The weird and ... Chapter 5

Piracy is not always easy - whether you lose your resolve or your direction -o*

"Well" Johnny said "Have I told you about that time when Lefty and me ... Lefty and Donnie, I mean - went to a mobsterīs funeral together. And all the mourners threw bills - hundred dollar bills down unto the coffin in the grave in honour of the dead man? ... then Lefty waited until the rest had left before he climbed down and picked up all the bills and left a tenner. I asked him why and he claimed the dead guy had owned him money"
We both laughed very much.
But just at that moment Lefty came running over to us seemingly agitated and "Come on, Donnie. I have borrowed a ship! ... if you really think this pirate business is so good then let us get going!"
For some reason the band currently at the stage at that time started to play "Rule, Britain"
I consider yelling to them that all these wanna-be pirates - except me of course - was American. But then decided it was not worth the effort. Who ever rule the waves is bound to be pretty violent in order to rule said water no matter where they come from so there really was no difference.
Hunnybear was not so sure she would like this sailing matter and cautiously asked Johnny "Itīs out on the water? ... and - and that water is wet?"
But here Lefty to my surprise stated "Oh, no, bear, we are gonna fly"
Then explained "I borrowed the ship from the Flying Dutchman. He is here with one of the last bands to perform and wonīt miss it for ages"
I wondered a bit at that explanation. Hadnīt Lefty asked the flying sailor if it was O.K. to lend the ship? But everybody was climbing aboard by now except the Headless Horseman who said he preferred his feet on the ground and would stay and make sure that the horses came home alright so I gave up my question and follow aboard.
So off we flew and was pretty quickly out to sea. I enjoy the flight after a bit since the weather very soon became delightfully warm. Johnny probably thought pirates belong more in the tropics than in a pretty cold Danish spring day and so used his magic to make the weather much more better -o*
After a while we did sight a small pleasure boat and boarded it. I was a bit worried that anybody would get hurt but the man and woman on board just looked amazed at the "pirates" and without much ado delivered wallet and jewelry to captain Johnny.
A boy at about eleven and a girl a bit younger stood off to one side and just stared. Then a little boy no more than three or four came around their legs with a huge dark brown Teddybear in his arms. He walked timidly up and asked in a tearfilled voice "D-do you wa-want Pooh t-too? ... sir?"
"Wow" Hunnybear whispered to me "He looks like a very small Johnny" And that was true enough. Dark hair, dark eyes and the cutest little face looked up at the big - and now very embarrassed - Johnny.
"Really - Meeps!" Johnny said - looking behind him where I stood with Hunnybear "That was below the belt" he moaned. And then to his fellow pirates amasement gave back all the loot.
Even the formerly robbed people looked more surprised than pleased at least to begin with.
But I thought that that was just like my sweet Johnny *O*
Then I realized what he had meant and protested as we flew away that I had not made that little boy appear. ... O.K. - all this takes place in my imagination but that does not mean I control it.
Johnny wasnīt quite sure he believed me.
But just kissed me and said "Forgetaboutit, Sweetchick" Then he turned to Lefty and said "Well - do I start for the other end of the boat or something to be ashamed of myself?"
Lefty thought for a moment. Then sighed deeply and said "No ... I guess I should be happy you are such a sweet boy or you would probably have told me to go take a hike a long time ago"
Johnny blushed - and looked adorable - and then with a very happy smile hugged Lefty. My sentimental sweetie had to blow his nose after that.
But when he started to say something again was rudely interrupted by a womanīs voice roaring through a bull-horn "Get ready to be boarder down there!!!"
We looked up - at a long shining dark blue ... spaceship.
It lowered itself until it was parallel with our much smaller ship and then a ramp went across the space between the two crafts. It hit our rail with a thump and a moment later three tall very armed women came running across yelling and screaming like a bunch of US marines ordering us to "Hit the deck!" and other things like that.
But I admit we just stood and stared - which is a dangerous thing to do in that situation  ...
Finally we did "hit the deck" and was frisked for weapons. And since the only weapons were two squirtguns Johnny and Sonny had that was soon done.
Then more women and a few men swarmed all over the boat but soon came back and reported there was nothing of value on board.
"Only booze" as one said sounding offended.
"Whatīs wrong with that?" Johnny asked and was told to shut up.
But a smallish red haired woman who was clearly the leader came up and ordered me on my feat. "Canīt you kill me instead?" Johnny wanted to know and got halfway up before he was pushed down again.
"Shut up, you silly man" the pirate captain said sounding tired "I am only going to ask her some questions. ... you are very cute and beautiful but donīt push your luck"
And indeed she politely introduced herself as captain Elizabeth. Would I please tell her where they were and how they could get to Xracs?
So I did - or tried to - since I had to ask Johnny where we were. Since he was not sure if he was suppose to say anything or not he didnīt answer me the first time. But finally between us we did manage to explain.
Hearing there is very far between the Caribbean Sea - round about Kingston Town, Jamaica - and Xracs captain Elizabeth asked in a bit more friendly tone of voice and with a little sigh if there was anywhere near where we were now where her and her crew could rest before taking the long haul back to their home planet.
Lefty in the background mumbled he had heard of a big pirate party at the Treasure Island - it being Ben Gunnīs birthday - so I suggested we all flew to said totally imaginary, but very nice little piece of ground.
And after a bit more talk back and forth so we did.
