You could very well argue that I should leave it to
Adobe Photoshop to toot in their own horn
seing they had much more money - some of them mine to do that *o*
And I am also sure they do an excellent job of doing just that *O*
But .....

And you could also add that a page about Adobe Photoshop and related topics has nothing to do on
a web site dedicated to Johnny Depp but since I have been doing - unspeakable things, my imaginary Johnny claims
- trying very hard to stay serious, even stern - and failing -o* - to pictures of said Johnny Depp for quiet
some time now and used different programs from Adobe Photoshop for that I would like to tell you about some things I
have discovered *o*
Not in order to get you to go out there and buy any of the company's products - that I will leave
to Photoshop's own PR people *o*
But to help people who has already bought such a program and might benefit from these things I have found
out lately *blush* *o*
... if you are not interested in all that technical stuff you can of course just
enjoy looking at Johnny here - you can do that in any case *O*

heart frame found at "Harry's" |
I have discovered three things lately ...
And let's start with "Harry" *O*
... no? My imaginary boy hasn't changed his name lately and I have switch affiliation
to Harry Potter either - although I do like Mr Snapes *O*
But if you take this link to thepluginsite.com you'll find a place where some people are trying to sell filters and frames
and pictures which you can all use in Photoshop - and what is even better for a poor fan like me - there is also some free
stuff to be had if you look around a bit *O*
Be sure to get the right free stuff though!
Because there are both packages/files for PCs and Macs. And you also have to control
at at least in some cases which file you want to download because some of it doesn't compute with all Photoshop
programs ...
Pure Photoshop !!! |

|
And beautiful Johnny, of course *o* |
I for example use Photoshop Elements 2.0 * and since that is a limited edition of the
big - and expensive - programs like the newest Photoshop 7.01. - there was some of the free stuff which I had to leave behind
- snuff *o* - because the program can't handle it ...
But that said there is still plenty of things for a silly chicken to play with as you can see on
this page *o*
Photoshop Elements 2.0 might only be a limited version but I have found out that it has even
more stuff to play with than I first realised ...

Photoshop's Wingding letters. |
I found pictures, textures and patterns which do not show up if you just use the official program
*o*
In order to find those I clicked on files - open - this computer and then
at HHD (C:) ... The harddrive where all your computer's programs are stored.
Well there I clicked on Programs and found Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 *o*
This may sound complicated ...
But if you keep this explanation beside you while doing so you should be o.k. *o*
Inside Photoshop you - at least in Elements 2.0 - have to look for Plug-ins where there are
different patterns you can use in front of or behind your pictures *o*
I know, they do look awful small but can be stretch out like the two I used on the Native
picture below *O* And they are in black and white but can be coloured as you can also see on the same -o*
If you then go one step back and look at the list again at your computer you can also find nice
thing under Presets - Patterns - Postscript patterns.
You can gather more stuff in the files named Textures and a bit under Web Contact
Sheet too.
In the last file there are among other things a cute little Teddy bear with balloons just right
for a birthday card *O*

patterns - used my way -o* |
If you find this path to the goodies as cumbersome as I do you can of course copy the
things into a folder which is easier to access once you have found your way there *o*
Why these things are not announced or to be found when you go in through the "front door"
and look at the program I can't explained ... I only found them because I read a book about Photoshop *o*
Which leads me to the third thing I wanted to tell you about;
The best book about Adobe Photoshop I have read up until now *O*
I am not saying it is the best since I have only read or browse through a small number
of books *blush* But its funny and easy to understand and what more can you demand *O*
It is written by; Robert Stanley.
And is called: The Complete Idiot's Guide To Photoshop 6.
Now the smart reader of course thinks; "But she only has Elements 2.0 !"
And yes, she only does -o* But many of the tips and tricks Mr. Stanley teaches
can be use in my little program too *O*

Send through "Harry's" Pop Art filter :-) |
Yes - one could perhaps say the title of this book is a bit insulting ...
But I don't mind being called an idiot if the man then goes on to tell me all manners
of useful things in a easy to understand way and with some humor added just for good measure *O*
So I'll still recommend it - especially if you bring it to the computer and try out some of the
things he suggests *o*
Humor in computer books and manuals are in very short supply as far as I can see - I guess the authors
think you have to be serious to be taken serious ...
He *o*
Finally one more photo of mine .. |

.. treated with "Harry's" Blurred Painting filter. |
... if that really is true nobody will take this serious at all - coming as it is from the
most seriously un-serious chicken ever to have flapped around in this world and clucked:
"I LOVE JOHNNY !!!"
*blushes *
What, baby?
Johnny Depp was being seriously funny when making Jack Sparrow and now Hollywood have
to take him very serious because of the rather serious amount of money that movie has earned and
still does ...
THAT comforts me a great deal! ... he *o*
And this ends today's lesson -o*
If anybody have an apple or two for teacher please leave it at my table and I'll see to
it that the seriuosly gorgeous Jack gets the-he-he-hem *O*
Don't tickle, sweetie! I haven't published the page yet *o*
... I haven't published ... Erm - bye, folks *O*
* This is an old page and I have since then upgrated to Photoshop CS2 *o* But the information
here is still valid also for the much more better and expensive program !!!
